Baldfaced Hornets
These hornets are one of the most aggressive types of stinging insects. They are atypically large yellow jackets. These hornets live in areal nests. The nest can vary in size up to 3,500 cells in 5 combs. Nests can hold anywhere from 100-400 workers on average. Towards the end of the season new queens and males are produced. The queens will leave the nest to hibernate for the winter and reemerge the following season to find a new nesting site. These hornets like to find nesting areas under cover and out of the elements.
